Welcome to Recrear International! We are currently hosting a conference for 14 young international leaders here in Ottawa with a close partnership with Carleton University and we are holding a final gala this Sunday, August 21st. We would like to open the work of Recrear International with young like-minded people in Ottawa and would love to have you attend. I have explained below some more about Recrear International and the current conference.
Recrear International (www.recrear.ca) is an non-profit focused on launching youth-based community development projects around the world. The organization was founded by a group of 16 young people at a conference in Berlin last summer. Since our initial conference Recrear has launched projects and mobilized youth in Nablus, Palestine, Esperanze, Dominican Republic and New Orleans, Louisiana.
This year, three Ottawa youth set out to organize the second annual Recrear International conference – RecrearMagnify. RecrearMagnify is a three-week long conference for international leaders in the field of non-profit management running from July 31st-August 22nd. During the conference we have incorporated a week-long speaker series including speakers from organizations including: CIDA, IDRC, CARE Canada, MSF, Carleton University, Causeway Work Centre, HUB Ottawa and many more. These sessions focused on topics including: social entrepreneurship, international development management, social enterprise, CSR, corporate identity and more.
We are now in our final week of the conference and we are focused on the organizational planning for Recrear International, including year planning and project development for the upcoming year. We are using out final gala this Sunday to showcase the work we have done over these three weeks and our plans for the upcoming year in Ottawa.
