Gioel is the Director of Research at Recrear, with 14+ years of experience in facilitation and action research worldwide. She holds an MPhil from Cambridge and a PhD from Sussex University’s IDS, where she studied how funding models impact Colombian youth organizations. As a co-founder of Recrear, she is dedicated to helping organizations transform their culture. A passionate writer, editor, and storyteller, she enjoys blending creative techniques in her work.
Quime works at the intersection of civil society building, participatory action research (PAR), and organizational accompaniment. As a co-founder of Recrear, she co-designed its PAR methodology and implemented it globally. She has led strategic processes for Oxfam, FRIDA, VSO, and CIVICUS and trained politicians, media leaders, and civil society in Sri Lanka. She also co-facilitated a co-design process for women parliamentarians across Africa, MENA, and Asia-Pacific. An experienced facilitator, she helps groups find common ground and reconnect.
Fia is the Director of Strategy and Learning at Recrear, specializing in participatory processes and organizational accompaniment. She co-designed Recrear’s participatory storytelling and accompaniment approaches and contributes to its Participatory Action Research techniques. With 10+ years of experience, she has applied PAR to research, MEL, and strategy across multiple regions. Her research focuses on power and civil society. A dancer and movement practitioner, she integrates experiential and creative methodologies.
Emilia is an intercultural facilitator and researcher passionate about bridging community development, social justice, and academia. She has worked on youth-led research with NGOs, public service organizations, and interdisciplinary partnerships. As a first-generation Colombian immigrant, she advocates for newcomer youth. With an MSc from McGill, she uses participatory and visual methods to explore migration and resilience. She also supports grassroots groups in Montreal as an organizational health consultant.
Yasmine is an Egyptian activist and researcher focused on social movements and combating GBV. With seven years of experience, she has worked with the UN, the African Union, and civil society at various levels. She holds a master’s in Participation, Power, and Social Change from IDS, UK. Her work spans grassroots mobilization, including leading HarassMap’s Community Unit in Egypt and roles at UN Women and WFP. She excels in connecting field stories with global development strategies using PAR methods.
